Chien-Fu Chen’s Biography
Chien-Fu Chen, Assistant professor, Institute of Applied Mechanics, National Taiwan University
Chien-Fu Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Applied Mechanics at National Taiwan University, Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. at the Institute of Applied Mechanics from National Taiwan University in 2007. He then did his postdoctoral research on sensing platforms using carbon-based nanomaterials at University of Maryland, College Park with Cheng S. Lee and YuHuang Wang in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and on the polymeric-based liquid chromatography systems with Don L. DeVoe in the Department of Mechanical/Bioengineering from 2007 to 2011. Prof. Chen’s research focuses on miniaturized systems utilizing micro/nanomaterials for biomedical point-of-care sensing applications based on affordability, sensitivity, and specificity, user-friendly, rapid and robust features. He serves as reviewer of 19 journals and his work has been featured on the cover of Lab on a Chip and Small.
